Why Tube Still Get Wrinkled Even If I Use the Mandrel Tube Bender?
There are many kinds of tube benders on the tube and pipe processing application, and even for the manufacturer, such as furniture manufacturer, power construction, highway and railway construction, Boiler Project, shipyard building, air condition manufacturer, etc. They require differents of tube bending equipment for their specific requirements. However, we suggest our customers use a mandrel tubing bender to bent their pipe in order to keep the best status of your bent tube. But in some cases, even if you use the mandrel tube bender, your bent pipe still occurs tube wrinkling or kniks.
What is mandrel tube bending?
After all the bending tools have been debugged, you can start to bend your pipe. When using the mandrel tube bender, the plug mandrel has already in the tube and placed in a fixed position, while the machine head clamps the tube and pulls over it. During the bending process, the outer radius of the tube is stretching and the mandrel inside it to keep the tube doesn’t collapse. Also, the mandrel insert into the tube supports the strength to hold the tube into the bending die groove. Theoretically, if you proceed in this way, your tube will be bent perfectly. But in fact, even if you use the mandrel to proceed with tube bending, your bent tube will still have some problems, like tube wrinkling, here we list several reasons for why the tube still wrinkled when using the mander tube bender:
- The tube in the clamping die doesn’t fit properly and slips while bending
- The mandrel is not fit properly with the tube
- Improper position for the wiper die to the bend die
- Wiper die get worn
- Not enough pressure on the pressure die
- Lack of or too much lubrication
- Doube check if the tube has fit properly with bend die, clamp die. If the mandrel fits properly into the tube.
